Apartments in Furore
The ancient name of Furore was Terra Furoris because during the stormy nights the noise of the sea was actually very loud. Furore is a very small town situated in the homonymous fiord. It develops on the beach and along the slopes of Lattari Mountains (the town can’t be seen from the main road of Amalfi Coast).
In this town there are no squares or widenings. The two parts of the towns were linked by a very long staircase, built during the period of the Repubblica marinara. During the past the fiord was inhabited by fishermen, then it was abandoned but it has been recovered for some years.
The fiord is attainable by the road 163 that links Amalfi to Positano. At a certain point the road goes down towards the sea, to the wonderful fiord. In this place Roberto Rossellini, the great film director set the episode "Miracolo" with Anna Magnani and Federico Fellini in the movie "Amore" (1948).
